Just an FYI for those looking for my 2707WFP preview. I received my 2707WFP but it was DOA!!! Those bastards at Dell sent me a dead monitor so the replacement should be here by Wednesday (2/28). Hopefully I'll get a working unit and let you guys know what I think of it.

Well as promised here are some pictures of the Dell 2707WFP. I have a really crappy digital camera so bear with me.

Here are some angle shots

As you can see angle viewing is very good. Comparable to the 2407WFP. The monitor has a very high build quality. Something the the 2407WFP somewhat lacked. Brushed aluminum highlighted by chrome accents and high gloss plastic make for a very attractive exterior.

Image quality is fantastic. Very good color saturation and contrast levels. Again similar to the 2407WFP but without any noticeable banding.

The controller seems to be the same used by the 2407WFP.

I did find some minor back light leakage on the upper and lower left hand side but nothing to distracting. So far no dead pixels are visible and the panel has good uniformity. I found that it takes about 10 minutes for the monitor to fully warm up. The OSD controls are the same as the 2407WFP. Some people were worried about the large dpi specs but at it's native resolution this monitor produces a beautiful desktop. If you can get this monitor for under $1000 I fully recommend it.

I connected an Xbox360 to the monitor via Component and via VGA. What I found is that via Component the Xbox360 looks amazing. The problems that the 2407WFP exhibited with it's Component connection do not exist with the 2707WFP. The colors were well saturated and vivid while the blacks were deep with very good contrast. At default levels the image looked a bit TO sharp but after lowering the Sharpness level to about 50 (default is 70) the image was very satisfying. The maximum resolution via Component was 1080i. Via VGA I found that the Xbox360 looked very good but the colors are again washed out. This is not a problem with the monitor... it's more a problem with the way the Xbox360 handles a VGA signal. I didn't bother to try and tweak the monitor settings improve the image. The VGA results are similar to what the 2407WFP was capable of. The maximum resolution via VGA was 1920X1080.
If anyone has any questions or comments let me know.
