ok, After MONTHS of procrastination I finally ordered the Dell 30 last night...

I went to Blizzcon and saw the new 27 and 30 inchers and I liked the 30 better. Although the 27's casing blows away the 30's the 30's picture looked better IMO. I'm hoping it will be a huge upgrade picture quality wise compared to my older Dell 2405FPW.

I will post some pics when I get it this week.

The 30" is a magnificent screen!!! You wont be disappointed.

The only thing you will notice/miss is that compared to your old 24" you will only have 1 input. Which is the dual DVI.
Your 24" AFAIK had a few inputs.

Just a heads up.

Well I got it today...

VERY fast considering I ordered really late on Sunday night.

I just popped it out of the box and all I can say is HOLY BUCKETS this thing is HUGE. I knew it was all good when my wife said 'That thing is obnoxious'

I hooked it up with zero tuning and it looks stunning. Everything is brighter, more detailed and more colorful than my old 2405FPW. HUGE difference besides just the size.

Can anyone suggest any tuning hints so I can dial it in?

Also I noticed it was an A02 verision. What changes where made from the A01?

I didnt tune anything. The screen itself only has brightness controls anyway.

The earlier A01 models had some serious backlight issues. Uneven light etc..

How the heck did he manage that? Good price

I get 40% off some Sony Bravia and Sharp Aquos displays but haven't pulled the trigger yet. All y'all and your fancy displays make me sad

BestBuy floor model. 10% discount when it was already marked $1199. So he got the warranty which erased the discount and then some. Still, very reasonable price.

Had some marks on the screen but they all cleaned up nicely with distilled water and a 100% cotton tee.

I've got to ask one more question, before I decide to get a bigger LCD or not.

I run a C2D \ 4gb RAM \ (1)8800GTX \ Vista64 now.....and have not run into any perfromance issues on any game. I been pretty much able to max all settings and run at smooth FPSs, using this 22" @ 1680x1050 ?
How do you think this setup will do if I bump up to a 1920x1200res monitor? Especially with the new games on the way like Bioshock, HL2: EP2, MoH4, Crysis etc....I'd hate to have to give up eye candy I'm used too...

All I can say is, I LOVE my 2407

And the extra connectors are bliss.

I have about 5 things plugged into my display right now. My desktop, notebook, keyboard, mp3 player and my camera's flash media

It's pretty cool. Plus the resolution is pretty solid. 2560x1600 is nicer but I can do 1080P now if I wanted to
