Bought it from http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ in NY. But I live in Japan, the biggest suprize (to me) was that it arrived via USPS unscathed...I haven't even found any dead/stuck pixels yet
They list it for $999.00 right now, and I paid about $170 for shipping to my APO (US military) address in Japan. I was condidering the Dell 2707 or the Samsung 275T, but the cost was about the same, so figured bigger is better (plus the response time is better).

Ahh bhphotovideo yep.. bought some cameras from them before.
From US to Japan unscathed hey.. wow.. im impressed!! Just picked up a Panasonic 32" 700A for fathers day for my dad. My parents have just finished an extension and there is a nice "nook" were it would fit perfectly as a secondary TV. I myself have a 40" 1080p Samsung M81. Good price you got. Bet they would be much more expensive here tho we dont even have those yet.Enjoy the screen. Seems like a great model.. infact I was seriously looking at that ( in 40" ) or the Samsung when I was purchasing mine. Thanks again for the info ![]()

I never posted this here, but I've joined the club. I just spent $400 on a 24" Acer X241W LCD (1920x1200). Best $400 I ever spent. This monitor looks absolutely incredible.

Well, the display is up and running fine at 1920x1080p. It is beautiful, and everything looks/feels very high in quality. Sharps packing was better than expected as I had this shipped from NY to Japan via USPS. It was not double boxed or anything, yet it arrived in great condition despite the fact the box was a bit beat up.
I'm using this only as a computer monitor at the moment, but may add an XBOX 360 later on. My eyes are about 30" to 36" away from the screen, I'm finding that getting any closer and the pixels begin to become visable (I'm pretty picky). From this distance however, everything is clear and ledgible. 1080p videos from Microsoft's library look good, but not great. Does anyone know of a better video library I can use for comparison (I do not yet have HD-DVD or Blueray capabilities)? I think I'm seeing compresion artifacts. Anyhow, gaming is great, but games that are not capable of using antialiasing are at a real disadvantage for PQ at this dot pitch. Developers really need to get this figured out (for the XBOX 360 & the PC), most already have, but some still have issues (ie STALKER & R6 Vegas). So far I have not identified any dead/stuck pixels, but I do see some in my long shutter photo that could have some issues (I circled them in the picture below). Also of note, as a fan of silent computing, is the screen does not make any unwanted noise (a nice change from my CRT). So here are some pictures for your enjoyment: 5 second shutter - no visable banding, but you may notice about 6 pixels that may be suspect, althogh I cannot find them by visual inspection. ![]() Viewing angle ![]() ![]() My workspace ![]() nVNews ![]() GAMING Supreme Commander ![]() DiRT ![]() 1080p WMV Coral Reef ![]() The Magic of Flight ![]() To the Limit ![]()

This one and the premium model, the LC32GP1U (adds a DVI-I port and a "gamer mode") are the only 32" 1080p panels on the market. They've been avalible since April. I wanted a 37" Westy for a long time (that's how I found this thread, and nVNews in general), but after this one came out, I changed my goal. I'm glad I did, any bigger than this, and I would have had to mount it to the wall and push my desk back a bit.

Just a heads up, 32" is HUGE
if you plan to put it on your desk, I'm finding that I have to stay back about 3 feet when surfing, typing, etc... If you get the 37" or larger, I'd plan on sitting further back (ie mount the TV on the wall or something). Otherwise good luck, you'll love it!![]()

Isn't 32" a bit too small to notice 1080p content in relation to 720p?

You managed to get a 32" LCD TV internationally shipped via USPS from NY to Japan. How? Was it possible because you have an APO (US military) address in Japan ? I need ApparelAndTech to ship me a Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC 30" 2560x1600 LCD Monitor via USPS from Garner, NC to Maputo (Mozambique) [25°57'25.11"S 32°36'09.00"E @GoogleEarth]. It's not an APO (US military) address, though. But I was told the box's dimensions (girth plus length) are too big, so I would need to use FedEx shipping, which costs 500$-600$. ![]() Quote:

this graph maybe a lil close, but heck,i watched Open Season in the store from 3 feet away and it was staggering!! i did see 32" model LC32D62U which is basically i think the same as LC-32GP1U except that your model has 3 x hdmi and one dvi.. wasn't impressed by the picture quality . Hope they are not the same cuz if LC-32GP1 is better then 62 i'll get one of those . (hah... 10 min later). Well, i did a lil research and found out that GP1U models(32" & 37") better for gamers because they have somekinda enhanced game mode. Damn can't afford 37GP1U right now... wwhhaaaa ![]() |
