I've been using a 19" CRT (18" viewable) for years, and I ran a desktop resolution of 1600x1200, so 1920x1080 on a 32" screen actually feels pretty low res to me. That's why many manufacturers make 30" monitors with 2560x1600 resolution, it is very usable.

Picked up the Soyo 24" Topaz S at Office Max the week before last...actually, that was the first one, which died three days after I bought it. The second one, however, has been very well-behaved for over a week now...it definitely has a nicer picture than the monitor it replaced, the Westinghouse LCM-22w2.
But--my God, it has the flimsiest and crappiest stand I've ever seen.

1. The backlit bleeding is horrible.
2. The color gamut is horrible it took me forever to get the colors right. 3. Some of the ghosting drives me nuts, just came from a 22" CRT monitor so I guess ill get use to it. It seems with the 226BW is a TN 6bit color monitor so I asked for it my fault. There is a S,A & C model the S being the best people are very happy with it, the A model has horrible blue tint that can be fixed and the C is the worst and this is the last Samsung monitor or product I will ever buy from them. There bait and switch method has pissed off alot of people. I got my wife a Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP and it is awesome I wish I would have bought another one instead, the backlit, color is perfect, movies even look awesome on it. Bottom line stick with dell.

First, great rig you have there. Congrats. ![]() Now, if you could only have one of them as your PC monitor, which one would you choose? Your Dell 3007WFP 30" 2560x1600, or your Samsung LE-46M87BD 46" 1920x1080? Explorer/Web Browsing ? The 30" 2560x1600? Work/office ? The 30" 2560x1600? PC games ? The 30" 2560x1600? Or it's a tie? HD Movies and Console games? The 46" 1920x1080, probably. What do you guys think ?

hhaha kinda funny actually.. I have both a Dell 30" and a 40" Samsung M81
My mate has used the Samsung for games and really enjoyed it put due to the size and lower res the dots are fairly noticeable when sitting at normal distance for a computer monitor. However when you play HD movies on it, it is pretty superb I must admit. I would and still am using my 30" Dell for all PC work. Except for I do have my 2nd PC hooked up to my Samsung for watching HD movies. But thats over near my bed. My mate just bought a Dell as well, and went thru the same thought process of which screen to get. Alot had to do with the fact that he got the Dell for $1600 and the 40" Samsung would have cost over 3k
