Exact same with me. 2nd day air shipping from UPS, but the tracking page says ground. Furthermore, as I said earlier, UPS first said it was coming on the 9th, and now, inexplicably, they updated saying it'll be delivered tomorrow.

Also, I thought I read that most of Dell's stuff comes from Texas. My monitor is shipping from Tenessee.

You mean that exoteric.roach.org fractal stuff? It's awesome isn't it?

There's a bunch of good wallpapers there. Many in 1920x1200.

Yup, that's it. I downloaded 3 or 4 to try out.

Edit: Huzzah! UPS site says my monitor is out for delivery a day early. I'll take it!

Edit x 2: Hooray! It came.

Edit x 3: I'm leaving work early due to adverse weather conditions. I'll have impressions up tonight.

Well, this thing is BIG. I haven't adjusted any settings yet. No dead pixels that I can find. Half Life 2 looks beautiful. Only downside is I'm getting a weird fuzziness with XBox.
It is hard to explain, but every second or so, the screen just kinda vibrates. Dunno what that is yet.

Yeah I saw your post over at [H] about that. Wierd. Keep playing with it and maybe it'll just go away. Never know...

I noticed my exchange is "InProduction" on their site so I hope to have it by Friday. I'm real curious to see if they send me one without a dead pixel near the center like I have.

Do you have an existing screen, like a 2005FPW, to compare the color rendition to?

Hm, my old lcd usto have a random time where it would screw up on my 9800 pro and hercules prophetview 920 pro. However turning off and turning it back on would fix the problem. it was like the image was jumping up and down like 2 or 3 pixels. maybe try the same?

edit----

Im a bit concerned. 4pm and no ups. Also i saw a ups truck leave my neighborhood as i was pulling in. However 3 people were home the whole time. Im worried they deliverd it to the wrong house..AGAIN.

Nossir. I'm coming from a 21 inch Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 100e, a curved CRT. Aside from laptops I use at work this is the first time I ever used an LCD screen for home use, so I have nothing to compare it to.

It works perfectly in Windows, BTW. No dead pixels, no fuzziness, etc. Also, intersetingly enough, I didn't have to screw around with my video card settings at all. I'm using a BFG 6800GT. BFG tech support said it wouldn't work at 1920X1200, but damned if I didn't just plug it in and select the res, no problem. Didn't even have to futz with reduced blanking.

Well, I did some more testing re: XBox. The problem is only noticable if I'm leaning forward, and looking at static text. If I'm leaning back or just playing a game, you can't notice anything, even if you look for it. The problem itself is if you look at a static image, the lines (text for example) get fuzzy about twice a second. It isn't random, it is definately a steady "beat."

I popped in a couple of XBox games. Brothers in Arms, Fight Night 2005, the Splinter Cell 3 demo and the Conker Demo.

BIA and Fight Night look like ass. There's some major aliasing going on and the textures on BIA especially look very muddy and blurry.

The SC and Conker demos, however, looked great. Conker especially looked incredible. Very little aliasing and beautiful colors.

Interestingly enough, BIA and Fight Night looked better on my CRT, SC looked about the same, and Conker looked much better. My early impression is that games designed exclusively for the XBox will look better than those developed for multiple systems.

No ghosting at all on any games, btw.

I'm gonna see if I can clear up the fuzziness still, but I think I can live with it, it is very minor.

A buddy of mine hooked up starfox on his gamecube. He thought it looks real aliased (tons of jaggys) and overall was just OK. He decided he was going to get a TV for it instead.
