My 2005FPW order shipped today. I bought it as a Mother's Day gift with the hopes that my older brother would help chip in. Fearing the coupons will expire very quickly (and they did, I think) I ordered it ahead of time before consulting with him. Well I got a chance to talk to him over the phone and he says it's too expensive even after the stacked coupons.

I'm going to secretly talk to my dad to see if he wants to help. I hope my brother will join in should my dad agree. Otherwise I'm going to call Dell and ask if I can refuse delivery and get my DPA credit back.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. The only time the backlight leakage typically becomes a problem for people is when they are viewing letterbox'd movies in a pitch dark room.

received it just now, its a thing of beauty. so far sadly i have one dead pixel about a 1/2 inch from the bottom stuck black, which doesnt bother me and a stuck grey subpixel on the upper left hand corner... seriously tho i have to reaaaally look for them both, the back lighting is fairly even so no worries. i have to say despite the little things im ecstatic about this monitor. it really is beautiful. I'll get back you guys about games and whether or not i get more dead pixels i figure if i get one or two more i'll make a call but right now im more than happy.

Edit: just played cssource and jeebuz it looks amazing! i think i need to get refresh force going on mine since the tearing is a bit much, but wow.

Turn on vsync in CS:S and see if it's adequate. I haven't tried yet, because tearing doesn't bug me, but that might take care of the problem for you.

Your message is a little confusing but what I think you are saying is that you have a USB mouse attached to the USB hub on the LCD. When you run the WINDVD app the mouse stops functioning. What happens after you close WINDVD? Does the mouse come back? Have you tried disconnecting and then reconnecting the mouse after it stops responding? Have you tried a copy of PowerDVD to see if you have similar problems?

after i stop the program its still stuck i have to disconnect and reconnect the mouse for it to start working again. it happens with both windvd and powerdvd, and it only happens when i play a dvd, i just connected the mouse to the comp directly and tried it again and it works at it should so something is up, but what that is at the moment i dont know. its a minor thing so im not stressing it.
