Hmmm.... I'm going to see if I can reproduce this problem. I think a visit to the Dell support forums is in order here.

P.S. Hey I see you are from Brooklyn NY... my old stomping grounds!

shaker718 that is one strange problem you have right there. Not sure why that would happen. Playing a DVD should never cause that sort of behavior.

i did a little searching around and couldnt find any other instances of this (the usb hub thing)happening.
on the plus side tho, the one dead (or stuck?) pixel about a 1/2 inch from the middle bottom, has corrected itself, its working as it should no matter what i put in front of it. good times.

The monitor USB issue is something a few people have experienced. I am not sure if it is related to the monitor or the computer or a combination, but there are instances of it not working as one would hope.

couponmountain is a site that Dell actually provides certain deals for.

Make SURE you read the fineprint else you might not be able to take full advantage of the promo/s

That reminds me, it doesn't hurt to enter the Dell site through the Fatwallet.com site for the 3% cash back.

I got my 2005FP from the Dell Outlet back in march and only paid 450 for it. No dead pixels found. Works great.

2405FPW owners, download and checkout these HDTV clips. Nice and sharp!

Have you tried a copy of PowerDVD to see if you have similar problems?

hey an update to this problem, i connected the USB mouse to the Bottom USB ports (the ones on the side are the ones that do not work when playing a dvd)on the monitor and it works fine during dvd play. i'm beginning to think that in regards to this issue its either a driver conflict or that the side USB ports are turned off during play. weird.

EDIT: um what I posted was partly right. seems it depends on the DVD... I know this is nuts. watching lord of the rings, no problem, watching my Richard Pryor Show DVD the mouse stops working again... im going nuts trying to figure it out....
