Just got my 2005FPW yesterday. I paid about $428.00. What a nice display!
WoW, HL2/CS:S, Guildwars and even Soldiers:Heroes of WW2 look awesome at 1680x1050. I got BF:1942/DC working at that res. too.
No bad pixels (whew) and no backlight bleed that I could detect. I got a Rev. A02 made in May. I definitely noticed the "screen door" effect while playing WoW. You can see pixelization of the textures when moving. I moved back some from the screen and am getting used to it. I was concerned after reading all the complaints about this monitor but so far I'm really liking it.

Thanks.

The textures shimmer when moving. When you look close you can see pixelation like you are looking through a screen. The effect gets reduced the further you sit from the monitor. To me, it's pretty minor and I'll live with it.

That has nothing to do with the monitor though... Texture Shimmering is due to poor Texture Filtering, It happens to me with World of Warcraft and im on a CRT.

It's usually caused by the drivers or graphics settings.

It's not the same thing. Until yesterday I played WoW at 1600X1200 on my 19" Trinitron and didn't have this phenomenon. This effect is unique to the new LCD screen (1680X1050). All other graphic settings are the same. Maybe "shimmering" is a bad way to describe it. It looks more like a sea of tiny black pixels moving on all the objects as you move. Dell LCDs are known for this problem.

Texture shimmering and screendoor are not the same thing.

The 2001FP has problems with screendoor effect, other Dell models typically do not.

I've never noticed it on LCDs i've played on (and I just went to E3 where every display was an LCD). Maybe there is something wrong with yours?

Ben's Bargains has a deal posted that the 2405 is only $899 shipped. Tax is pretty crazy though...some people were saying they paid over $75 for tax. Eek.
