Anyone using the D-Sub cable instead of the DVI? I was thinking of getting an HD Cable converter for the office to be able to watch ESPNHD, DiscoveryHD, etc. using the DVI port. I have not bothered to test it yet, but I understand that at native res it is susceptible to noise.

I just recieved my 2005fpw everything's cool but I noticed DVI isn't letting me set any 16:9 resolutions.

Does your monitor show up as Dell 2005fpw in the control panel? If not, download the Dell driver pack. Also, you may have the monitor set to 'fill' instead of 'aspect' in the Image Settings for the monitor.

Any new deals on the 2005fpw? Best I can get is the 25% off and a $60 coupon with free shipping = $464. Not bad, but was hoping to slide in at $400.

Yeah my monitor is set to Fill and yeah its showing up as Dell 2005fpw and I installed the dell drivers. It's actually not bothering me too much, I'm just playing all games at native res. I can really see the diference between analog and digital signal though. Can't wait to get my new comp so i can max out on all the games at native res and get good fps

Finally, Philips added a 20" wide-aspect monitor that uses their LG.Philips panel. Yes, the same that both Apple and Dell are using

Hey guys, couple questions. The whole price negotiating thing w/ the monitors: do you think it'll work w/ the 1905 as well? (Yeah I know this isnt really for the 1905, but I figure most of you guys would know) I was planning on getting a 2405, but I think I'm gonna opt for the 1905 and some Promedia Ultras (and a larger HD). Along w/ that, assuming the rep does lower the price, can you apply coupons to that? Or is the whole idea that because there ARE coupons, they can negotiate.

Another thing, because I can't seem to find any info. Are the 1905/2405 glossy or matte screens?

Yeah bumping an old thread but I wana know something...

Should I get a 2005fpw to replace my current 19" monitor or wait till dec to get a 2405w? Im just nervous that I might notice ghosting or I will be uncomfortable with the wider view and less height ...

Oh and as another choice, whats a good 21" monitor that can do 2048x1536 at a good refresh rate...

I doubt the widescreen aspect will bug you. It's becoming more the standard all the time it seems like. So you might as well get used to it.

As far as ghosting goes, both those displays have about equal response times. IMO ghosting isn't noticeable unless you stand facing a wall and strafe back and forth. During actual combat I never notice it at all.

Dell will let you send it back for a refund within 21 days if you aren't happy.

Prices are set. They should not be lowered or adjusted just because someone calls in.

I know this was going on and perhaps still does, but everyone is audited and those who make adjustments that are illegal are typically freed to pursue other opportunities

If you have coupons, and you can stack them, that is the BEST option for you to get a deal on a monitor.
