Do you have the same settings Rip on your 2005?

I am seriously contemplating selling my 2005 and getting a 2405 instead, but I am thinking it might be a little excessive for me.

/me shrugs.

Has anybody in the UK managed to get a good deal on one?

They are very expensive from Dell direct.

507 ($882 USD) for the 2005FPW
942 ($1630 USD) for the 2405FPW
519 ($903 USD) for the 2001FP (though currently on offer to at 390)

Eventually got a 2405FPW for for £660 from overclockers.co.uk. Gorgeous so far. Played HL2 briefly.

I nearly cried when I thought it had three dead pixels, though on closer inspection they didn't look like any dead pixels that I'd seen before. Thankfully it was just tiny bits of dust

No, they are totally different panels (LG vs. Samsung) and the settings would not produce an equal image. The 2005FPW has a nice rich color out of the box, though I still turned down the brightness a bit. The 2405FPW is pretty much washed out and WAY overbright out of the box, requires a lot more tuning.

Is there any way to get the PIP or PBP modes to work with DVI and VGA instead of the 2nd source having to be something like s-video, composite, or whatever? I'd really like to display the picture from two different computers side-by-side. In the options, it doesn't let me do that but the manual doesn't seem to say that it has to be that way.

My 2405FPW just needed the brightness dropped out of the box but other then that, I haven't really had to do any else to it. Best monitor I have ever bought.

I finally took the plunge and got one I decided on the 2005FPW, the price was just too damn good vs. the 2405 to go with the bigger one.

Holy hell!!! I checked the order status while writing this.....I did overnight delivery and according to the status page Dell shipped yesterday, so it should be here today(12/1) ..hehe I'm totally pumped.
I'll post my thought as soon as I have some....don't wait ..hehehe

On top of the monitor I've made done some major downsizing to my over-kill system.(but this is another story)

Damn it, damn it, DAMN IT! I tried ordering the 2005FPW today becuase I just saw the deal today, and Dell kept saying I'd already used the coupon, even though I made my account 3 minutes earlier. We get a discount through work that stacks with whatever the current promotions and coupons are, so I could've gotten it even cheaper, but now I'll never know.

I'm no expert on LCDs but I like what I see.....Absolutely no dead pixels. I don't think there is any significant back-light bleeding(never looked at this on any monitor before) maybe a tiny bit at the edge borders. This 2005FPW is bright and clear (I turned down the brightness to 80) and somehow looks much bigger than my Viewie 21" CRT.
I'd like to give it a big-huge ultimate thumbs-up.....But first its got to pass PaiN's "wide-screen gaming" test...
I'm waiting on WoW to install, so I can get to it......
