Ofcourse. For instance the panel in my 2000FP was an Acer/BenQ. The panel in my 2405FPW was a Samsung.

Especially if you and your family have panels that are 2405FPW or previous then no I do not believe you have 0 dead pixels. You guys are missing something.

Believe me... I know what I'm talking about here. And there's no way in hell 5+ panels in a row is some sort of bad luck streak. That's crazy. No way.

Newegg still has an 8 dead pixel policy to this very day. And I'm supposed to believe this is an uncommon thing to have a single one? LOL

It's too bad LCD don't come with a zero dead pixel gaurantee. Although, where I buy all my computer parts, NCIX.com, they offer a zero dead pixel warranty for only like $25 canadian. So if you have even 1 dead pixel, you can send it back and get a new one, no questions asked. Apparently they will even check it for you before they ship it to save on the shipping. I think more companies should offer this.

My samsung 172x has no dead pixels, as does my bro's. My parents' on the other hand has one dead blue pixel almost in the middle of the screen. Drives me nuts but they don't notice it at all. Oh and my room mates lcd that he got had a dead pixel but he bought the zero dead pixel gaurantee so he sent it back for a new one.

Saz I would love to come check out those 3 monitors. Might even bet you some cash I could find something.

Part of the issue here is also that it can take time before you even notice them there, particularly if they are in an extreme corner and only show up under certain conditions. Blue/Green/Red stuck pixels usually take the right background to be seen. It took me a matter of weeks before I picked out some of the problem pixels on a couple of those displays.

Try the utility in saturnotaku's for sale thread. It should make it easier to spot them. I ran it on my two and didn't see any.

Sorry dude. Not after having 4 of my own and seeing two friends get them w/at least one. Just can't believe that is simply bad luck. Six in a row? No way. Unbelievable.

I can buy that maybe one out of the three you mentioned might not have one. But no not all 3.

So we'll have to agree to disagree here.

So, I picked up my 2005FPW last night. I took it home and realized that I forgot to take the DVI and power cables. The guy I bought it from is mailing me them today.

He let me play CoD 2 on it, though. One word to describe it - amazing. I checked it out and it doesn't appear as if there are any dead/stuck pixels. As soon as I can hook it up I'll run Dead Pixel Buddy.

A few tidbits for y'all.

The current lineup of the 2005fpw and 2405fpw will be replaced by HDCP compliant versions which will have similar specs but a lighter over-all chasis/stand. Models will be the 2007fpw and the 2407fpw.

ETA probably around April or May of this year.

Around Oct of this year is the monitor I am really looking out for

The 2707fpw. This will be different from all the other ultrasharps because of the panel. It will have an estimated 92% color reproduction. Compare that with ~60-75% for most flatpanel monitors on the market right now. The better ones obviously have better color reproduction.

Estimated response time == 10-12 ms typical. Price, I dunno. I would wager probably retail at $1400 looking at the 3007's price-point.
