Afaik, to reduce TCO, it will likely be 19x12 wide and size == 27" as the model suggests. This will keep it from requiring a dual-link. Perhaps the res might scale up a little more but I would be very surprised. I don't have all specs on it yet other than the color accuracy.

First 2 letters == diagonal.

I see thx. Sounds like it might be a good one. There are a lot of caveats w/the 3007 right now, the ridiculous pixel density being one IMO.

The 3007, like the apple cinema 30" is a niche product.

It is NOT designed as a main-stream product ergo the caveats you speak of should not be a factor.

ETA probably around April or May of this year.

Around Oct of this year is the monitor I am really looking out for

The 2707fpw. This will be different from all the other ultrasharps because of the panel. It will have an estimated 92% color reproduction. Compare that with ~60-75% for most flatpanel monitors on the market right now. The better ones obviously have better color reproduction.

Estimated response time == 10-12 ms typical. Price, I dunno. I would wager probably retail at $1400 looking at the 3007's price-point.
Hm it sounds intresting. Hard to choose between waiting for the 2707, or a 26" dell tv or a second 2405!!!

I was using the 30"er earlier today.

With our precision d'top equipped with a lovely quaddro FX

Glow, if you need a TV, get the 32"er instead of the 26".

OK finally here are some more pictures. My camera has a few pixels out in the CCD so these images don't quite do it justice.

I should've used better lighting so keep in mind it's a bit brighter than some of these pictures show, especially the FarCry shot with no ambient light.

Still not to horrible I don't think. Looks better in person though.

I decided after using the 3007 today that I am patently happy with my current display

Gonna wait probably till end year or next year to go to an hdcp setup, probably along the lines of the 27" setup.

I think there's a joke there somewhere.

Thanks for posting the pics. I've been eyeing the Westinghouse at Best Buy. It looks great!

...and man, that's huge!!!

Edit: Just thought of a question. What did you do with the fonts? Did you increase them or do you leave them at the defaults, etc. Just wondering how text/documents/windows apps, etc. look. You said you sit around 3' from it, is it hard to read text from that distance?

Text is easy to read at 3', just use ClearType. I have fonts @ default and it seems fine to me.

Look at Clint Eastwood's hat. There is a dead pixel there - but it's on the camera not the monitor.
