Wow, that sucks. I can understand them wanting to protect content but some of it just seems ridiculous.

Thank God my Sony has an HDMI input. Maybe I'll be safe?

To hell with it. Enjoy the displays that are out now. I wouldn't get all riled up over whether or not you're HDCP compliant.

Hell let's be honest anyway. Half of us here will own another display within 2-3 years max anyway.

Exactly, you only live once. I do have some concerns about how some of the standards will play out though.

Thanks, hopefully it won't be too much more expensive to get the replacement plan.

Again, a classic case of people who play by the rules are being punnished.

However, if you dont pay for the blu-ray in the first place you get to enjoy it at full res (pirate)

Now that I think about it, the replacement plans might only be available on products that are $500 or less. I'll have to check the one I bought with my CD player to be sure. Sorry, didn't mean to get your hopes up.

I would still check into getting a warranty direct from Westinghouse. Manufacturer plans are often times far superior to what you would get at the retail level.

Ah good to hear that BIOS issue was just a bunch of nonsense then. That would've been a serious dealbreaker.

Wow! Can't wait to read your review of it. I'm mainly interested in seeing how well you can run things at the native resolution and how things look and play when running at non-native resolutions.

Congrats on the new monitor.

BTW, I just looked at the full res version of your setup. How about a few pics with the curtains open. Looks like you have a nice view.
