I think I'm joining the club. I just got my HP f2304 23" Widescreen monitor (1920x1200) with HDTV support this week

It has Picture-in-Picture and I love it.

BTW, Westinghouse does not offer extended warranties. I got an e-mail back from them today.

So anyone getting one - I suggest getting the best you can get from whoever you buy it from.

DVI and HDMI are the physical transport.. HDMI and DVI are actually very similar, interchangable in fact with a adapter.. HDMI basically also audio also included in.

HDCP is the protocol used over DVI/HDMI connections.

Your dvd player, settop hd box, vid card has to also support the HDCP protocol along with your monitor to view future encryped HD digital media..

There's only one vid card out there that supports HDCP fully on that market now. The 6600GT's found in Sony PC's. ALthough HDCP has been standarized for a few years now.. nobody's bothered to implement it though.. cause nothing uses it.. yet...

If you don't have the right protection/encryption support.. the media will play in a lower rez format instead.

Considering blue ray is arond the corner, and so is windows vista.. and lots of assorted DRM protection and such.... might come around faster than you think.. Its one of the reasons why I bought the gateway LCD, since it supports HDCP.

Very impressive!!

What about a shot of the regular desktop? How is it, font size, etc. at such a high res? Do you have to use larger font sizes or anything like that.

Yeah, Right now i my htpc has a really old packard hell 15" crt that is unreadable.

However, im not getting the 32" because it simply costs to much and will be too big (if that can even exsist).

Im building a new HD-htpc from some parts i have and new stuff.
7800GTX
FX-53
1gig corsair
mobo psu case etc

gonna buy new hdd's for it, the HDTV pci tuner and then make it quiet'er

Sounds good. Be sure to post pics and impressions once you get it. I was looking through a Dell catalog today checking out the LCD TVs since I need a 2nd TV. I'm pretty interested in the one you're getting.
