No, however dells manual says to use 1360 x768. I tried useing a second comp with a nvidia card, same result. I also tried useing a known good dvi cable with the same results.

I am leaning towards faulty unit or faulty design. Dose anyone know for their advanced replacement if they have to charge your credit card again? If so ill have to get them to put it on my parents card heh

Before you go the return route check the Dell forums to see if this is a known issue. Once a get a sec I'll go over there and see if someone on those forums has experienced similar problems. Maybe there is an easy fix.

Looks like the option I was thinking of is adding a custom HDTV mode. Sounds like that wouldn't help though especially if Dell recommends 1360x768 anyway.

Well I quickly scanned the Dell forums and I have some bad news. Its seems like the problem you are having is a known issue with no quick fix available. Some people are stating that the issue can be partially corrected by using powerstrip. Check the forums if you need powerstrip settings.

What are they saying is the cause or how did you search ("Choppy TV?").

I did a search for "W2600", "DVI" and "choppy video". The results showed that a few customers are having problems when using the DVI interface of the TV and their PCs. The problem sounds similar to the issues people were having with the Sceptre 37" LCD TV. Choppy video and severe stuttering. In the case of the Sceptre it was a frequency issue. This might also be the case with the Dell but no clear fix was found on the Dell forums. The only saving grace is that analog signals are displayed very well on the Dell so if you are only going to use analog devices (Composite, SVideo, Component or VGA) then you'll be a happy camper!

Yeah so it sounds similar to the "jutter" bug on the Sceptre then? A firmware fix is out for that TV but you have to send it into the factory.

That so called firmware fix only reduces the frequency output of the Sceptre 37" to 53HZ. Doesn't sound like a true fix to me. Seems to me that Sceptre is trying to compensate for shoddy electronics. Oh well... At least the Westy is a true 37" 1080p LCD monitor.

Yeah to bad the Westy doesn't have it's own fair share of issues though.

But what can one expect? Sub $2000 1080p LCD TVs aren't going to be perfect yet. Though we all expect perfection anyway. lol

After reading about all those issues, I'm going to go home and hug my 2005FPW.

Do you have backlight bleed? That model was famous for that. At least the early revisions anyway. Mine was horrible.
