So was mine. I got rid of my 2005FPW after 3 weeks. I hear that Dell corrected the problem though.

I kept mine. Perhaps I shouldn't have but I didn't feel like getting a refund when I'd already sold my 2001FP at the time. Ah well. It was a good display except on dark backgrounds in a dim room. That's the only time I really noticed the problem.

I finally got myself a widescreen TFT.

NEC LCD 20WGX2 20 inch AS-IPS technology, 6ms g2g.

http://www.nec-display-solutions.co....43646,type=all

I'll get some pics of it soon. The monitor is utterly awesome. It has a very shiny glossy front. Some people say too glossy. You get reflections on black with too much light in the room. But what-blacks! This thing has better black depth than my Sony 19" CRT. Gaming on it is awesome too... I love it.

Ok heres some pics.. They're a little grainy cos I had the ISO cranked up to keep it sharp without the flash. (wobbly hands)

You can see the reflections here. This is with my light on tho, which is never on. I only put it on to take pics.

Looks pretty nice.

I take it from the book under the display that it doesn't come with a height adjustable stand.

They need to make that bastid standard on displays of this size

I like height-adjustable stands. I don't think I can go back to a monitor w/o a multi-functional stand.

Great monitor, I've been researching for over a month for this monitor. There's a review of it in widescreengaming forums and in www.hardware.fr or the english version www.behardware.com, and is included in a roundup in http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...p_lcd_roundup/ today.

Anyway it arrives in Greece in 15.03, so another week waiting for me. I already have a glossy 19" NEC1970GX in the office, so I am a big fan of glossy screens. Don't undestand the fuss about them, really.

Have fun with your new monitor!

Yeah thats a 19" CRT.
Its lower down due to the stand, but the amount of vertical screenspace you get is pretty much identical. You lose an inch at least in viewable space on a CRT which you dont on TFT.

I will! You will not be disapointed!! I was really really impressed with the image quality.. its awesome. The glossy screen makes colors and blacks really deep.. I couldn't be more happier with it!

So, who is going to be the first with this one:

Quote:
A 56-inch LCD screen that weighs 66 pounds will makes its debut at the CeBIT trade show in Hannover this week.

Chi Mei Optoelectronics will be showing its 8.3-million pixel V562D1 LCD monitor. The active part of the screen measures about 4 feet by 2 feet, and it has a maximum resolution of 3840 by 2160.
It is supposed to cost around $10k.
