I've just got my new 2007WFP today, and all is good, except, i cannot for the life of me get DVI working. The analogue signal and cable work fine, however when i try to switch to DVI, all i get is a black screen, then a few seconds later the monitor goes into power save mode.

I've re-installed my nvidia drivers (6800GT btw), and fiddled around with the monitor settings and installed the dell drivers and everything, but cannot seem to get it working.

Ontop of that DVI seems to also not want to work when booting up, in bios, and whatnot.

Perhaps it's a driver issue maybe, considering i am running beta drivers..

Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated, ta.
This is a fairly new model from Dell so I'm not to familiar with it. I'm guessing that somewhere in the front of the monitor there is a button that lets you switch between the DVI and VGA output. Have you tried pressing that? Are you maybe forcing a refresh rate higher than 60HZ with some kind of software app? Have you tried rolling back to a WHQL approved video driver? If you have another LCD or CRT monitor with a DVI input have you tested the DVI output of your video card with those displays to see if the video card is functioning properly?

You should be able to select input as DVI from the front.

On my display it is input 2. Should be something similar for you.

yeah, as i sort-of mentioned, but not very well, is that when i do switch to the DVI input selection, the screen goes black, and into power save mode, as i stated previously.

Thing is, if i unplug the cable it comes up saying the DVI-D cable was unplugged.

But yeah, just nothing happens when it's plugged in.

Unfortunately i don't have another DVI monitor to test with, but i might have a fiddle with WHQL'd forceware drivers tomorrow, and see how we go.

Have you called up dell technical support?

Seems a weird issue. My brother has my old 6800 ultra oc and his 2005 works fine.

Might just be a small setting/calibration problem. If you read the instructions and hooked it up right, it should just work.

Per request here are some pictures of the LVM-37W3. Now keep in mind that as usual my camera has washed them out a bit. This is evident in the shots - but some of them still aren't all that bad.

A mix of movies and games.

Those Nemo shots never cease to amaze!! Screen looks simply amazing! All you need to do is install a mini fridge and a toilet cause if I were you I'd never leave the front of my PC!!

Yeah I'm pretty happy with it so far. Only a couple minor gripes but no real dealbreakers. And saves me $600 over the cost of the 42W2.

Hey Riptide quick question. Does this new Westy have that glossy finish on the screen?

my gateway lcd had a buzzing noise, but it goes away when you turn up the brightness 90 or above.. I'm wondering if maybe that could help your buzzing noise..

Small world eh?

In regard to ENU's query the screen isn't any glossier than any of the others I've had previous to this (including Dell LCDs). But in any case I would always suggest you demo something like this before buying unless you know what you are getting into before hand.

I was just inquiring because I recently picked up a new Dell laptop for work and it has this high gloss highly reflective finish on it. I'll admit that this new finish greatly increases the contrast but this thing is like a mirror. Very annoying if you are in a brightly lit room.
