Whatever this ghosting they claim to see on avsforum - it doesn't show up when I play files via my PC. I think that problem applies to mainly OTA or tuner based input.

I had a while to get used to mine too. It seemed too big at first. I kept wanting to move back from my desk.

Once I got past the awe factor of the size, it still took me like a week or so to feel at home with it.

Anyway, congrats on the new LCD (dead pixel and backlighting issue free).

Well, Dell has fixed the colour banding and blurry text issues on the A1 revision of the 2407. The only real problem with it anymore is the input lag, but it is still better than the 2405's ever was. And the 2407 looks way better than teh 2405 (well, in my opinion anyways :P) Now if they would just hurry up and release the 2407 in north america I could get one!!

Congrats though! I suspect I'll have the same "problem" at first when I get my 24" screen Oh well, it will be worth it.

Thanx man I love this thing, Im starting to get used to the size, and the color is great too. The only thing I dislike is that it says DELL on it, come to think of it, most if not all the montitors at E3 where made by DELL, so I guess thats gonna take a little getting used to also, but anyway THIS THING ROCKS

Sure if you don't use any 1080i source you can't experience the same problem.
I believe many people at AVS Forum use the set as HDTV and that's why they report the problems.
There is not any HD broadcast at 1080p, most high definition channels are 1080i (interlaced) that is why they need to be
on LCD monitors de-interlaced, few station broadcast at 720p.

It looks like not all 1080p LCD monitors are equal when it comes to the de-interlacing, specially on fast moving object.

I'm looking now for some time to buy large HD LCD Monitor and sure Westy LVM-37w3 is on my short list if ever available
by BestBuy or Wal-Mart in Canada and the 1080i de-interlacing get reported fixed or i can see the monitor in action.

I'm also planing to use the monitor as HDTV, sure I have not a great need for 37 inch PC monitor but if it looks OK I will also use it as such. When it comes to games my fav right now is Oblivion and with my BFG 7800 GTX OC it's barely playable at High Quality - 1280 x 1024 so I'll have to still use my CRT SONY 21".

AnandTech did recently test the Oblivion and one off the verdict was
Quote:
For now, those of you hoping to run Oblivion at 1920x1200 with all the detail settings at maximum will need to wait for future GPU generations.
So even if I was going to buy pair of X1900 CrossFire GPU and crossfire mobo which according to AnandTech perform the best with Oblivion game I would not be able to play it at High Quality 1080p.

For sure I'm not going to spend $1,200.00 than compromise on quality. Anyway I'm not planning to get new GPU till new generation DX10 and HDMI capable GPU. Probably in about half year time plus about two months waiting period
(let others test them)

If I get any large LCD monitor before that the most I would upgrade is getting another BFG 7800 GTX OC for SLI, probably cheap second hand. Anybody wants to get rid off one

Well yes and no. I don't see the problem with 1080i MPEG files played off my computer. Technically that is 1080i source material. That said - I'm not using OTA or any sort of tuner. That seems to be when people have noticed problems.
