Ack! I was hoping it would be lower than that. I wonder how long it'll take to drop to 3k or below. I really don't want to spend more than that for an HD monitor.

Thanks for the info and link.

Edit: I use my 37" Westy to watch HDTV and I don't think I've seen any ghosting but maybe I don't know what to look for or maybe I haven't looked closely enough. I'm afraid to look closely now though.

He's talking about the 37W3. You still have the W1 right?

Yeah. Is the issue only with the W3?

Anyway I'm not planning to get new GPU till new generation DX10 and HDMI capable GPU. Probably in about half year time plus about two months waiting period
Isn't HDMI just DVI and digital audio combined into one? I don't think video cards will ever have HDMI because they don't do audio...maybe I'm wrong on this...? Or are you referring to a HDCP capable video card? That would make more sense.

I'm not sure the posters at AVS Forum report the 1080i de-interlacing problem on Westy LVM-37w3 only on OTA HDTV.
I believe a source with high speed moving objects is needed to notice the motion blur (some even call ghosting).

Sorry I must say you started right and ended up wrong, it proves even einstein can sometime be wrong.
I did mean HDMI interface, the HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) part off it is something I'm not excited about.
About the Audio.
"There is a jack for SPDIF passthrough on the card in which all audio channels are routed through the HDMI interface."
Did copy the above from DAILYTECH describing one off the new ATI GPU coming out soon.

Here is another link about NVIDIA and ATI, HDMI graphic card interface.

I'm assuming so because that seems to be the only source of complaints. Very few of those people seem to watch mpegs from their actual machines. They are almost all using tuners. Me, being fairly picky, do not notice any more motion blur or ghosting when I'm watching movies than I did vs. the 42W2 I had. Therefore I can only assume the problem only shows up when you are feeding it with a tuner.

Viewed that material many times - and not seen anything unusual.

June 1, 2006 Dell's 2407WFP Arrives In the US
I'm sure few members on this forum are waiting for this.
Dell's UltraSharp 2407WFP cost before rebates listed at Dell Small Business $978.00
Good price considering that Dell 2405WFP was $1200.00 when first announced two years ago.
By the way Dell has the 2405WFP today listed at 759.00

Dell's UltraSharp 2407WFP, Westy LVM-37w3 and couple new large monitors (hope coming out soon) are on my short list to buy.

EDIT
Sorry I just noticed 2407 was already announced here

I don't know why I believed it would have been posted in this tread, guess I should have search the forum first

Hello all.

I have the westy LVM-37w3 and was wondering if anybody had this problem.
On the top of the display there is a line that is only there on some channels.
It looks like a line of static. I have comcast in the chicago area. What is weird is it is only on some channels. I wonder if it is something with the display or with comcast.

Any thoughts

Read through the thread on avsforums for this display. That is a known issue and has to do with the overscan. It's technically not the fault of the display. When you see that come up again try setting it to fill instead of standard.

Today new low price for Westy LVM-37w3 at BestBuy $1399.00
($300.00 discount)
Getting hard to decide Dell 2407FPW $949.00 or the LVM-37w3
