Finally did a run with the new 8800GTX (Just one... so lonely.)

Dropped the CPU to 3.51 and OCed the RAM. Will try the other way around and see if it effects the score at all.

^^ Nice score. Have you OC'ed your GTX yet? I have yet to OC mine... no need in games yet... but almost curious as how it will effect mark06. Nice OC on your E6600 too. Im thinking of pushing mine a little more but it will require more voltage... always a roll of the dice

Thanks, I did OC the GTX to achieve that scrore... 625/1910 I believe. Anything more than about 640 I get artifacting, but my PCI-E bus voltage is on auto. I could probably set the voltage higher in BIOS and get to 650/1950+. I'm not in a big hurry though because all my games run great ATM. I can get my E6600 to 3.66 or so stable, but that's at 1.49V-1.5V, and even with the Tuniq it gets too hot for my liking (40's-50's).

Mostly I'm really impressed by the G Skill-- 2.15V and I can get 872mHz at 4-4-4-10. Pretty solid! Much better than some Corsair 6400 I had before.

ya.. if I put my voltage on my CPU at 1.45v I can get it much higher.... but after running Othos for a few hours it starts pushing 56c which is to far hot for me. I like to keep it under 52c when running orthos. I might put it to 3.2Ghz and leave it there and be happy... even though 3.0Ghz right now seems to be just as good.

I have not even begun to overclock my video card yet.... how were your temps at those speeds (I am assuming you have the standard GTX) ??

I love my memory... before I started messing with the memory ratios in the bios I had my memory at 1036Mhz (defualt is 800Mhz) and it was stable at 2.2v. The reason I got this ram is that I can boost the voltage to 2.4v and still not void the warranty... I love OCZ These 2 sticks appear to be overclocking gods... leaves my future open for more daring CPU OC's

Well one of the other reasons that I haven't OCed my GTX more than I have is because I haven't been monitoring the card temps. I know those cards run hot anyways so I'm not worried about a mild OC to 600/1900.

I my E6600 got into the mid 50's after 15 hours on Orthos at 3.51ghz, and low 60's at 3.6 after several hours. I have yet to see it hit 50 at 3.51 during actual gaming though, and this is playing Medieval 2 and Supreme Commander. The Tuniq cooler is really quite a bit better than the Zalman cooler I originally had.

Looking forward to putting a quad in later this year after the prices drop.

Im surprised you let it run untill it hit the low 60's. I could have sworn the threshold before damage is done to the CPU with the Core 2 Duo's is 60.9c. Ya... my CPU never goes above 50c in games.... even after hours of play. Orthos is really a true tester that produces usages most of us will never see

I've heard different figures for the threshold temp of an E6600... anywhere from 61C to 85C. I hope I didn't damage my proc. by running it at 60-61 on orthos, but I haven't noticed any obvious damage... definitely like to keep it at 31 idle and 43-44 on games tho. Gotta protect the goods.

haha... to true. Pretty nice you can sit at 3.51Ghz comfortably though with only 1.43v. Mine seems to start to crap out above 3.2Ghz Anything above I have tried with like 1.45Volts and its unstable in Orthos. Its not the memory cause I take it down with the ratios (and have had it well above spec before). I think with more voltage it could be made stable but I dont feel comfortable above that voltage and I noticed when running orthos above 1.45v my temps push very close to 60c in orthos (which I dont like). Now I gotta decide if im just gonna call it and be happy which and alreay kick ass CPU or if im gonna push forward and try a different cooling solution to get slightly low temps.
