I currently have a Leadtek 6800GT TDH 25Mb card in my computer, I was wondering if it would be worth getting another so I could SLi them or just upgrading to a better graphics card. Money isn't really a problem but I don't spend hours gaming or anything so how much difference would I notice?
Thanks. |

I feel that you would be better off with a better card, like a 7800GT. If you don't spend a lot of time gaming, you may not feel like going through some of the hassels of SLI systems. There are still compatibility issues here and there, you would have a lot more heat in your system, and there is still a lack of true dual monitor support, even though you have ports for four damn monitors!
Two 6800GT's are going to perform, in most cases, not quite as well as a single 7800GT. One good card is always better than two decent cards, and the 7800GT is really a good deal in comparison to how much you'd pay for another 6800GT. |

Benches only include 6800 Ultras, but gives an idea about 6800GTs in SLI.

I had a pair of 6800GT's in SLi and it is my belief that the 7800GTX was worth the upgrade. If your choice lies between a second 6800GT in SLi or just upgrade to only a 7800GT, then just get the second 6800GT.

Or flog the 6800 and get two 7800GTs in SLI.
