Default Geforce2 MX / MX 400 - Poor Performance FC4

I'm having trouble getting good performance out of my old Geforce2 MX card. I'm having similar symptoms to this guy:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...orce2+glxgears
Except I don't have the MESA problem.
This is a new dual boot environment, with a nearly vanilla FC4 install. Windows has been running fine....but that's not what I want.

Here's what I've got.

AMD 2400+ 2.0 Ghz
512 MB DDR
Geforce2 MX / MX400
Fedora Core 4 2.6.14-1.1656

Here's my Driver Info from /var/log/rpmpkgs
kernel-module-nvidia-2.6.14-1.1656_FC4-1.0.8178-0.lvn.1.4.i686.rpm
nvidia-glx-1.0.8178-0.lvn.1.4.i386.rpm

Is there anything I can do to increase my performance? I mainly use this machine for gaming, and have Cedega running Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne. I get more than twice the performance out of Warcraft 3 when running Windows than I do Linux, and I'd like that to change. Windows was a temporary fix, now it's time to migrate to Linux on this machine.
