Default 6600GT TwinView -- Resolution problem.

Hello everyone,
So I decided to drop xinerama and use twinview. I believe I have everything setup
right, but I can't get identical resolutions on each monitor. I would like to have each
monitor run at 1680x1050 resolution. The first main monitor runs at that, but the second seems to run about 1300x1024. Is this a case of the 6600GT not supporting that high of a resolution on the second monitor? Here is my xorg.conf:

According to your bug report, you're getting 1680x1050 on both displays. Why do you believe that you're not?

Because, for example if I have a 80x24 xterm on monitor 0 and then drag it to monitor 1 it is visibly larger. Also, If i take a window (say an xterm) and set it inbetween the two monitors then the left half of the window (on monitor 1) sets below the right half of the window (on monitor 2). Hmm I just tried to take a screenshot, but the disparity between the two is not visisble. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris P.

If you run xdpyinfo on each display, what resolution does it claim you have?

Default Re: 6600GT TwinView -- Resolution problem.

I thought I'd add a bit more info. I normally run E17 as my window manager, but I also checked in twm and this problem exists there as well. When I drag a window in E17 it will popup a little box showing the current x/y coordinate of the window as you move it. I notice that on Monitor 1 (the head that i believe is at the incorrect resolution) that in the upper left corner, which you would expect to have an x/y value of 0,0, is actually 264,0. Hopefully that might shed some light on the problem.

Thanks,
Chris P.

You're definitely getting 1680x1050, since 3360x1050 is 1680x1050 across two displays. I can't explain why you're seeing this behavior.

Lonni,
I was experimenting and noticed that if i drop down to 1280x1024 (2560x1024) for each head the problem goes away. Would this have anything to do with the fact that my second head (monitor 1) is attached to a VGA style cable while the other head uses DVI?

Thanks,
Chris P
