Well... it's an SBLive 5.1. And the MAD page says 24 and 32 bit output is identical. So I think it automagically uses 24.

The Live cards only support 16bit, even the Audigy1 can only output 16bit. Im hoping to get an Audigy2 early March, then I can test the difference between the 16bit on my Live and the 24bit on the Audigy2. Also as a side note, the new WinDVD Plantinum supports 24bit, you really should try it out for music cds and MP3. Im using headphones, and using headphone SRS, really makes a big difference to me for music, but DVDs really come alive, more so than Dolby Headphone
