You can turn on the classic menu and you'll have the regular items. They're still available even without that though. Just click the tools button on the upper right part of the menu area. The help (about IE, etc.) is under the ? button. Even so, I still turned on the regular menu.

Edit: Oops, I forgot I removed the tools button and one of the others. If the tools button didn't show up, just click the >> on the right side of the menu pane.

Finally tried it out last night, but it's not working right for me. The connection window is popping up constantly and i don't know how to fix it.

It felt slower to me, and somewhat laggy ( in click response ) compared to Opera.

Here's a test for anyone using this beta, what colour is the text in my sig? It's supposed to be "Slate Grey" and it is in firefox, but in IE7 beta, it's cyan?!? Just making sure that this isn't just me.

It's a pale green'ish type of color in IE6 (i.e. cyan).

Edit: Same in IE 7 beta 2 also.

Also, after using IE 7 some, I think I would have preferred IE6 with tabs instead of a lot of the changes they've made to IE 7. It's like the put too much thought into it. IMO, they should have just stuck with what works well already and just added tabs to the existing IE6 layout.

Ok, thanks. I changed the colour to dimgrey. Seems to work. I think the problem was that vbulletin changed the colours it uses (there seem to be way more options than there used to be) and slate grey is no longer used.

Yeah, pretty much exactly what Maxthon does.

I'm also getting the same memory usage issues as everyone else. Three tabs open and it's pegging 100 MB. Hopefully they can get this sorted out at final release.

A lot of times, FireFox takes up like 400MB+ depending on how many times I have open/had open and how long the program is open. It's effing ridiculous.

One thing that annoyed the hell out of me with Maxthon, is there was no easy way to do BOTH new windows and tabbed browsing at the same time.. You had to do one or the other.

ynnek, can you elaborate a bit; I don't understand what you mean. I've been using Maxthon for close to a year now, and really like it. With about 10 tabs open, it's currently using about 10,000 K of memory, which is nice! Plus, I REALLY like the "Groups" of tabs you can save and open.

was on Neowin and had this thought about tabs:

when opening a link in tab 2 of 4 which opens in a new window, the new tab should be NEXT to the tab you were just in. not on the end. for example:

|--tab1--| |--tab2--| |--click link in tab2 that opens in new window should go here--| |--tab3--| |--tab4--|

reason being, the content you are clicking on is relavent (usually) to tab 2, NOT after tab 4.

anybody understand/agree?
