Hi!
Sometimes when I try to reboot the System my x-server hangs and I can't do anything(eg Alt +ctrl +backspace). The xorg.log says something like "(EE) NVIDIA(0): vm86() syscall generated signal 7.". I have no clue what this means, I use the driver 8178. I attached the bug report (after a new start of the system), the xorg.log and my xorg.conf. Thank you for helping me! |

Signal 7 is a SIGBUS:
The bughttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIGBUS Its unlikely that this is being caused by an nvidia driver bug. I'd suggest verifying that your hardware isn't faulty, and since you're using Gentoo, verifying that your USE flags are more conservative. Thanks, Lonni |
