Default GLX Not Found, SuSE 10.1 Beta 2

Yeah I know This is experimental, but I have a new computer and only SuSE 10.1 Beta 2 has worked with it so far. I have a GeForce 6800 16x PCI Express card. I Did the work around to get the newest NVidia driver to compile. Seems to compile fine, and the driver seems to be working well. Heat temp shows up, can overclock fine and Composite is blazing fast, but for some reason GLX drivers are not loading.

Please generate and post a bug report (you attached the installer log).

Thanks,
Lonni

Add the following line to the Device section in your xorg.conf:
Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true"

Thanks for the reply. That command only allows the use of GLX while using Composite. My problem is that GLX drivers are not being loaded with the NVidia module. It seems to find the libraries fine, judging by the config file, but is not loading them.

The bug report that you posted shows that the glx module failed to load because you had requested the Composite extension in your X configuration. There was no other glx related failure noted.

Why do you think that the glx module (there is no glx driver) is not being loaded, and where is this visible in your bug report?

Thanks,
Lonni

Thanks, that fixed it for me - I'm also running suse 10.1 beta3, and that Option line allowed the glx drivers to load.
