I have tried both the FX5500 and the Geforce 6200 on SuSe 9.2 and although the cards are 3D, SuSe reports that the card has no 3D hardware, and is unable to activate it. I have the latest Nvidia Linux driver installed. This is not an installation problem, because I have installed this system many times and always with the same result. Is this just a characteristic of Linux, or is there something that I can do to fix this?

This is expected, 3D support does not need to be enabled with SuSE's tools; please also see http://www.suse.de/~sndirsch/nvidia-...ler-HOWTO.html.
