Default Problem with Cedega and Battlefield2

Hello nvidia supporters,

I have an ugly problem with battlefiled 2 under cedega and drivers 1.08xxx

My System:

Suse 10.0 OSS 32 Bit
Athlon 64 3500+
MSI Geforce 7800 GT
kernel: 2.6.13-15.8 ( Latest Suse Online Update)

I tried 2 different setups here:

First: Cedega 5.03
Battlefield 2 original version (no patches applied)
Nvidia 1.08178 (all patches applied)

Result: The memory usage of the winex process is growing and growing until my whole
memory and swap is used and the system is unusable.
Everytime a specialeffect in the game is used (e.g when a tank shoots near you,
or a grenade explodes) the mem usage grows about 100 MB or more ...

Second: Cedega 5.03
Battlefield 2 original version (no patches applied)
Nvidia 1.07676 (without any patches)

Result: The memory usage of winex is stable ( About 1 GB at 1280x1024) .
If there is such a special effect here, memory grows a few mb and then
lowers back again. So battlefield 2 is playable in this setup.

So there must be something wrong in the combination cedega -> nvidia 1.08xxx .

Could you please support me ?

I really would like to use 1.08178, cause i think it is faster in some other games and looks stable except of this cedega bf2 issue.
I also think my card ( 7800GT) is not really supported, cause it is identified
as G70 in /proc/drivers/nvidia/cards/0 .

If any additional information is needed, i will do any tests you want, cause this problem needs to be fixed (cause i know i'm not the only one having this problem )

Thanks for your help in advance,
Regards,
Christian

Default Re: Problem with Cedega and Battlefield2

Hi,

After posting my problem to the transgaming support forum, they told me
that this problem is definitvely a nvidia bug in 1.08xxx and that they have informed nvidia
about this bug.

So, is this information correct ?

Is there already a patch to solve this bug ?

Please please give me a hint !

Regards,
Christian

Hi nvidia supporters,

Could you only please give me one answer to my thread ?

Just saying it is a nvidia bug or not ?
And it will be fixed or not in the next version ?

Could not be that much time.

Thank you in advance,
Christian
