Default Yet another tv-out problem

So I'm using kind of ancient hardware (GeForce2) and I'm outputting via svideo to a tv (no monitor is hooked up). Everything is operating fine, the only problem is X does not fill the entire tv (there is about a centimeter of black on each side of the desktop). From most of the posts that I've read, people seem to have the opposite problem where the desktop borders go beyond the viewable picture on the tv. Some people have solved this with messing around with the overscan but in the readme it says that overscan is only valid for GeForce4 and newer cards.

Currintly I'm running the display at 640x480. If I switch to 800x600, then I get about two centimeters of black on each side and maybe half a centimeter on the top and the bottom. I've tried changing the DisplaySize in the Monitor section of xorg.conf but that seems to have no effects.

Anyone have a solution?

You could try to build your own modeline but apart from that there's no other solution. Note that all televisions shows, dvd players, game consoles use overscanning by default but in those cases you don't notice that you lose a part of the picture.
