Default no mouse with 1.0-8178 driver

Hi all.

I've just installed 1.0-8178 driver for linux. I had any installation problems and it looks very well but the mouse pointer dosesn´t appear anywhere. But the mouse is working because when I move it and stop on any button, it works when I click on it; the only problem is that I can't see where I am.

My sysem is a Debian etch, kernel 2.6.15.4 (compile today);
Motherboard = MSI K8T-Neo
Graphic card = evga e-GeForce FX 5500 (256 MB)
Mouse PS/2 Optical Benq

OK. Another problem, but I don't know if I mus post it in a new thread.

When I try to swich to character consoles via cntrl+alt+Fn I can't see anything because all the screen is filled in by vertical white lines (1 point and two point wide) One time the background character was another (It's imposible for me to tell you witch) but the screen was unreadable. But the truth is what you type in is executed, so it seems to be a little problem.

Please excuse my bad english but I hope you understood me.

Thank you

Try to add the line: Option "SWCursor" to let X render the mouse instead of the hardware it might fix your bug.

Hi Thunderbird.

I added the Option "SWcursor" "On" and now I have my mouse working very well.

Thank you.

For now the other problem persists; I can't see the any character when I swich to virtual ternibals via <cntrl> <alt> <F1>.

Do you recommend me to open a new thread with this issue and close this one?

Best
