Default Need some help-->no MPEG 1 or 2 video??!!

had a spyware attack on my computer (spysheriff), took a while to get rid of.

Anyway, today when I tried to play back some video, NOTHING worked. I checked my codec, got divx, xvid and AC3filter, no sound problem, but no video waht so ever.

Not even any MPEG or MPG videos :S

Anyway, used XP video decoder checkup utility, here's the screenshot:

Any advice on how to get the very basic codecs back?? Tried MS download site, can't find this stuff. Tried to install Media player via XP CD, didn't do a thing either

Try this:

Quartz.dll is the MPEG-1 decoder, MPEG1/2 stream splitter and MPEG-1 Audio decoder used by Windows. You need the splitter for DVD playback I believe.

Just open a command prompt (Start, Run ) and type:

regsvr32 quartz.dll

which should register all the functionality of the DLL.
