I am running Mandriva 2006 power pack. I have a nForce 4 mobo, +3700 CPU and have no idea the temps of anything but the video card.......
For some reason it installed 2.6.12-12mdksmp kernel, I also tryed the 64bit version of Mandriva 2006, also to no avail. Also, when I first installed, I had to go with no-apic kernel in order for it to find my SATA HDD. I have tryed LM_Sensors, installed the newest, also tryed the i2cdetect, that finds: Code:
Installed I2C busses:
i2c-1 smbus SMBus nForce2 adapter at f400
i2c-0 smbus SMBus nForce2 adapter at f800
I searched here, and found a post about 2.6 kernels haveing this stuff built it already, so if anybody can expound upon this I would be very grateful.... ![]() |

What happens when you type in senors? It should give you the temps as well as the voltage. You might need to adjust them in your lm-sensor.conf file, but it should work.

Your question got me to looking around. I'm using SuSe 9.2, and know nothing about Mandriva, but I had to install a package from the installation DVD called Sensors. It installed files in 3 directories, but the one that appears to be the primary is in usr/share/doc/packages. I'm still playing with this, so I can't offer any specific help. If you figure it out for your machine and distro, please post it.

When I type Sensors, it tells me it hates me, and wants me to die.......
Actually it just reports, No sensors found.... I tryed xmbmon also, and same thing there. I think the IO chip is a Fintec(spelling) F71872F. I have fought with LM_Sensors for a few days and am getting tired of it... But it says it uses I2C, which is pre built into the 2.6 and higher kernel and should work with NF4 boards. In /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/ theres a folder called Thrm with some blank files in it. I also tryed Fedora 4, and no love there either, but I like it, so I will prolly make the switch... ![]() Perhaps what I need to do is check where and how it access's the chip, and edit the .conf accordingly...... Other then that, I have not a clue.......
