Default Fedora Core 5 (FC5) NVIDIA kernel module build fails

Error messages in attached log file for build against kernel:

kernel-2.6.15-1.1977_FC5
kernel-devel-2.6.15-1.1977_FC5

Cannot see whether this is an NVIDIA problem or a kernel/FC5 problem. Maybe you guys can?

Unhappy Re: Fedora Core 5 (FC5) 2.6.15 1977 patched 8178 NVIDIA kernel module fails

Thanks. Thought that other thread was only 2.6.14 kernels. Meanwhile, back at 2.6.15 -

Have applied your patch to the 8178 driver.
It all builds nicely (as far as I can see.)

However, when X starts, it fails to start the NVIDIA driver:
X.0.log says:
(II) LoadModule: "glx"
(II) Loading /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so
(II) Module glx: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
compiled for 7.0.0, module version = 1.0.0
ABI class: X.Org Server Extension, version 0.2
(II) Loading sub module "GLcore"
(II) LoadModule: "GLcore"
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module GLcore
(II) UnloadModule: "GLcore"
(II) UnloadModule: "glx"
(II) Unloading /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so
(EE) Failed to load module "glx" (a required submodule could not be loaded, 0)

Was NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-8178-U012206.diff.txt the correct patch to use, I wonder?

Have attached log files.

You need to install the xorg-sdk RPM, and then reinstall the nvidia driver.

Thanks,
Lonni

glxgears
19388 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3877.553 FPS

That's more like it.
Thanks very much for great support, guys

The exact package that solved the problem for me was xorg-x11-server-sdk-1.0.1-7.

Yes I installed the same package. But it does not fixed.

I have to make some symlink from /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ into /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/ and it works ok now

Thanks,

Now,these two questions were solved
1, Failed to load module "glx" (a required submodule could not be loaded, 0)
2, couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/X11R6/LIB/X11/rgb

the rest is
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)
Fatal server error:

still cannot startx...
