Default Re: Fedora Core 5 (FC5) NVIDIA kernel module build fails

@Poirot: have you followed the steps in the post and installed both the pkgconfig and xorg-x11-server-sdk packages prior to the NVIDIA Linux graphics driver installation? They are necessary for 1.0-8762's installer to determine the correct installation location for the NVIDIA X driver/extension modules (i.e. the files X can't find on your system). I suspect 2. is caused by a bad RgbPath in your Xorg configuration file; when checking for this, you may also want to verify that you're not specifying an invalid X module path.

yes, i follow the steps in the post
# yum install kernel-devel xorg-x11-server-sdk pkgconfig
# yum update
# reboot

it downloads a lot of things and update automatically...

i don't understand "distribution with Xorg 7.1" in the post, and don't knwo how to see the Ver of Xorg in linux text mode

Please provide an updated nvidia-bug-report.log along with the output from the following commands:
rpm -q kernel-devel xorg-x11-server-sdk pkgconfig
uname -a
cat /proc/version

now the version:
Linux version 2.6.17-1.2145_FC5 (brewbuilder@hs20-bc2-2.build.redhat.com) (gcc version 4.1.1 20060525 (Red Hat 4.1.1-1)) #1 Sat Jul 1 13:03:45 EDT 2006

(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)
Does it mean i don't install the nvidia driver???
but the version of my nvidia driver is the newest: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8178-pkg1.run
and system show the driver and patch have installed...

1.0-8178 is not the newest. 1.0-8762 was released nearly 2 months ago.
