Hello,
with current version of gtk (2.8.12) and pango (1.10.3) I have problems with font rendering in every gtk-application. The fonts aren't rendered completely and text can't be read. The problem does only occur with the proprietary nvidia drivers! Is there any patch available to fix this problem? Regards, Alexander PS: debian sid with NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8178-pkg1 + some patches |

Can you capture this problem in a screenshot?
Also, please generate and post an nvidia-bug-report.log. Thanks, Lonni |

The screenshot shows the problem with the fonts. I can select the text with my mouse so that it will be repainted and can be read.
Hm, how can I generate a usable nvidia-bug-report and where should I post it? Regards, Alexander |

This is a RENDER acceleration bug in Nvidia's driver. Turn off RENDER acceleration...

I have exactly the same problem
And there are many threads in forums.gentoo.org It's a problem with GTK 2.8 and RenderAccel. GTK 2.6 didn't have that problem. If RenderAccel is active and fonts are not antialiased the problem occurs. If RenderAccel is disabled and fonts are not antialiased the problem doesn't occur. With font-antialising and RenderAccel enabled everything is fine, too. regards Dennis |

The next driver release should correct the majority of known RenderAccel bugs.
Thanks, Lonni |

I had the same problem but when I updated cario from 1.0.4 to cairo-1.1.1_alpha20060216 the problem is gone.
