I remember once I had upgraded the kernel (using YaST) and rebooted. I forgot to recompile the nvidia driver. I also did not save the driver package on the disk, so I had to download it again.

Boy, did I feel helpless.... try to download the driver when you cannot fire-up the graphics mode and start an Internet browser!

The nVidia website is very, very unfriendly to browsers like lynx or w3m!
It requires the use of wget and manual analysis of HTML data to get at the path where the driver can be downloaded again....

So I really understand the sigh of relief when X works again :-)

no, nvidia's (main) site is very lynx friendly... compared to ATI's.
and you can get it also via FTP

@RIK, good to hear, but as I said before... this x.org is _only_ for testing! (mainly all mouse and keyboard settings are missing, you'll notice it if you've use anything else than a 3-Button mouse with scroll and a American keyboard...)
