Save your BF2 registry keys. Get one of those fake cd key generators, so that you can install the game. Patch up the game to your current version. Then replace the BF2 registry keys with the ones you had saved from your old machine. Ought to fix it.(pirate)

edit: Just to be sure save the contents of your BF2 directory onto a DVD. /shrug

That sounds like that might actually work... encrypted or not, those keys probably do have the correct code as far as the game is concerned.

for some reason I don't think it will work. It could be an encryption based on this particular computer, once it hits another computer the encryption key is completely different. Just a thought.

Ah, thats possible

I just searched a little and I cant find anything about a cd key decrypter for this either. If you havent already, you should probably look around a bit. Check some filesharing programs too.

EA/Dice should be able to decrypt that hash you have there.

However that would be too kinda a deed to expect from those filthy commies!

edit: My friend has BF2 installed on his PC and laptop, and we checked the reg key values, they are the same.

The encrypted key should beable to be injected into your new windows installation. Have you ever heard of someone upgrading their computer and BF2 suddenly not working? It's not based on your hardware..

but sticking it in the key entree form is not the way, you need to stick it back in the registry manually.

New disc would not come with a manual, therefore no new key. You should beable to obtain a new key with a submission of a UPC code (ie cutting it from the box and sending it in). This would atleast limit you to like one new code (they can't just give out new codes to anyone who ask, registered or not. A new code is a whole new game.)

can someone help me find a number to call? The only way I can talk to EA is through this stupid messaging system they have. It makes it easy for them to say "no". I need to yell at someone.
