Zalman 7000cu is a good cooler. But the Thermalright XP90/120 are perhaps a bit better yet.

I like the Zalman 9500, I get low 30's idle and mid 40's load

I was looking at the Zalman's a couple of days ago at CompUSA. I had never paid any attention to those before, but I was struck by the size and weight of them. I would have expected to get alot cooler than what some of you are reporting, because I get good temps with a stock fan, but then I'm not overclocking either. Even though they use the typical holddowns, I was wondering if the weight and possibly vibration wouldn't leverage gaps in the contact area between the cooler and the CPU?

From what I've read the "ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro" is top dog atm... most reviews show it gets lower temps than the Zalman. I had the 9500 cooling was good, but it was anything but quiet with the fan at 100%

I just got the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro for my new Opty 165. Seems to work quite well, and is very quiet. However, from what I've read, it's a step below the top 3, which are: Zalman 9500, Scythe Ninja, Tt Typhoon. The order of these 3 really just depends on which review you read. That said, the AC is cheaper than all of them. I got mine for $28 shipped.

Any recomendations for a quiet heatsink that still is a very good cooler? I have three computers running one glaciator and two glaciator 2's from millnnium thermal (yea, remember those bricks?). I actually have 2 modded with a potentiometer and lowered their speed to 2k, while the third is speed controled by the motherboard to decrease their noise even more. My hottest cpu, the 2800xp(barton) runs around 65c after a while of full cpu load if I leave the fan at 2k RPMS.

I am wondering if theres a new contender in the realm of low noise "mid level" performance that could help me lower my noise and maybe even my temps even more.
