When i tried instaling VLC...says i need lib codecs...first...so i try instaling codecs...says i need vlc

That's strange. What are you using as your DL manager? Usually apt or YaST will understand the dependencies you need and install the relevant packages.
I'm assuming all your repos are updated and whatnot. ![]() |

Try installing apt4rpm (SuSE version) or use the YaST sources to install VLC for you. I never encounter such infinite loops.
