Zone Alarm is much better because it allows control over outbound traffic as well.

Read this article to see why Black Ice is a bad idea: http://grc.com/lt/leaktest.htm

If they fixed that random BSOD problem with Kerio/Tiny under WinXP, then yes, it's good.

Otherwise, avoid at all costs.

The built-in firewall in good routers works well too...plus the new Linksys firmware allows its routers to integrate flawlessly with ZoneAlarm Pro (it's actually touted as a feature).

Back before I had a router, I ran Kerio/Tiny on here. I kept getting these weird BSODs, so finally, I looked around at some Kerio/Tiny support groups. Apparently, it was a very well known bug with K/T and XP that caused BSODs all the time.

Probably fixed by now.

DO your PC's get hammered as well, It seems to me that it wasn't as bad before.

I mean Zonel alarm records a few blocked "intrusions" every second

After having the PC on for more than a week non-stop the Zone Alarm used up all the memory ..

OK all needed was a reset but

No Ive never had alot of attacks on my network at home. Im not using anything at the moment, for some reason if I use Kerio now, my second computer cannot access the internet, no matter what I do, it blocks other pcs on my network Samething when I tried it on the inlaws network! The only thing that I can think of is a windows update is causing problems?
