Panic with NVIDIA driver
I'm using a DELL Precision M70 with a NVIDIA FX Go1400 on it. I recently installed NVIDIA driver 1.0-8178. The installation process is excellent. No problem with the configuration file (xorg.conf), the nvidia0 device appears after reboot -- -r, the log file for the X server shows no errors and no warnings of any kind. After logging in, the solaris panics with the following message:

The panic occurs with any random GUI event, (a new terminal, solaris registration window, sound config, logging out, etc.). If I disable the GLX extension the problem goes away, but obviously I don't have OpenGL. I tested the driver with Solaris 10 1/06, OpenSolaris build 20, 30, 31a and 34. Always the same result. @rabadan: please post the complete panic output; depending on where this crash occurs, it may have been fixed, already.

@rabadan: thanks for the log files; are any special reproduction steps required or do the panics consistently reproduce immediately or sometime after logging in?

I've been able to reproduce this problem, it should be resolved in the next NVIDIA Solaris graphics driver release.

The panic occurs randomly during session, but if from your login screen, select command line login you get the panic for sure. If you login, and from your graphics desktop use a terminal to shutdown or reboot your machine, it will panic instead of shutting down. Greetings... |
