You know, I read that in the press release about the nVidia drivers for Oblivion, but according to developers, this isnt how it works.

Everyone gets the same dungeons, forests, etc. From what I read in an interview (which I could have completely misunderstood), the game generates the foliage and forests when the area is built in the editor. After that, its saved and is permanent. It isnt something that changes with every run through... Im almost sure of that.

I've been milling over what they said in that driver press release, and it still doesnt make sense. Can anyone explain this to me?

It has been reported that uninstalling DefilerPak/ffdshow significantly increases performance, and setting “bUse Joystick=0” in the .ini might help as well. It might be worth giving it a shot and seeing what happens.

I thought I had different rocks a couple of times but I could be mistaken. So, I thought it was changing but I haven't paid that close attention to it yet.

Ok CaptNKILL, thanks for sharing that. It should be easy enough to test. I'll see if I notice any randomness.

Yeah, I would test myself... but...

I still have another 2 painful days. This is bulls**t. I hate UPS in my area, and take2 should NOT have said I would get it tomorrow, and they also should NOT have said it would ship monday. It did not ship monday and I will not get it tomorrow (unless there is some shipping miracle). Im deffinitely going to be emailing them. Maybe I'll get my shipping charge back... it would have gotten here faster if they had just stuck an extra one in the box going to Walmart and labeled it with my name on it

HDR enabled, 1600x900, 16xAF being forced in the CP, first outdoor area in the hills

Joystick=0
Frames: 1496 - Time: 29641ms - Avg: 50.471 - Min: 40 - Max: 68

Joystick=1
Frames: 1435 - Time: 28729ms - Avg: 49.950 - Min: 41 - Max: 67

Well, I guess that didn't do much. What about the ffdshow one (if you have it installed)? How are you benchmarking by the way?
