Pretty much maxed out at 1280. You might have to balance things out, like AA, AF, or HDR, Bloom.

I hope the new drivers boosts the SLI performance.
Just in a spot check, SLI almost doubled my framerate but even with that, the framerate was still pretty low (outside area). I've been playing with the load balancer on and there are areas where SLI doesn't seem to be helping much though.

Tygerwoody - do you have every single option maxed out in the Oblivion video menu? And are you forcing AF through the nVidia control panel?
only 4af. I haven't tried any higher than that yet. Too busy playing

Yeah, we need a constant boost and a boost over what we have now even when it's working if we're going to use 1920x1200 or higher outdoors. Just walking around taking screenshots I've been okay at that res but playing it for real, I'll probably have to drop the resolution unless these drivers can produce some magic.

Not all SLI modes work for all games. I don't think you should be trying to use SFR with Oblivion. SFR basically provides no benefit and actually seemed to lower the framerate in some cases (for me anyway). Try using AFR. That's the predefined mode in the Oblivion profile and from what I've seen testing all 3, AFR is definitely the way to go. It almost doubles the framerate although there are still some areas where SLI doesn't provide all that much help.

AWESOME GAME!

It runs slowly on my system: 6800 ultra/2 gigs ram/64 3200+
I think I have too much stuff cranked up.

Runs great on my xbox360.. very dark on my 50inch lcd hdtv though. Missing the mouse/keyboard combo.

Does it use the same low level of detail in the distance that the PC uses?

Why? People with 6800GTs or Ultras are able to play almost maxed out at 1280 over at the official forums so I donŽt think you would be that far away. Of course it depends a lot on with how many fps a person is satisfied with, IŽm for instance totally cool with frames in the 20s and youŽll be better off than me for sure. lol

when the hell are the new drivers out! im hoping nvidia will pull a rabbit out of the hat in terms of oblivion performance increases.

EDIT: my 360 copy of the game has been posted should get it tomorrow and i have friday off work.

now, i use the same 26" screen for both my pc and the 360 (360 uses vga, pc using dvi) so ill be able to get to the same points in the game and flick between them seeing which looks and runs better. f*cking pwnage ))

My frames drop into the teens in certain outdoor areas. Mostly stays above 30fps though, not too bad. Max everything, 16x12, 4aa/16af + bloom.

Is it true there's a nice boost for dual core CPUs vs single core?

Turned off HDRI and put bloom on. PC version runs much better now. Simply amazing in every aspect.. im blown away.
I Have not noticed too much difference between the two different versions. Not enough time to even get my jaw off the floor.
360 looks better since It is more powerful than my rig right now.
