Does it look like a circle surrounding your character or like a missing square tile out of the water surface?

I just tested x1900xtx with Cat. 6.3 and it is working 100% for sure. Check out these 2 screenshots:

I posted this earlier. Here check this out. Right to the left of those firsr Ruins across the water from the Sewer entrance.

uNumDepthGrids=3
uNumDepthGrids=1
Nomod

The hole in the water was a problem I saw as well but haven't tested what fixes it, if anything. Maybe someone else has narrowed that one down, I was focusing on the reflection problems.

My fix doesn't fix the reflection problems, but does (as far as I can tell) fix the hole in the water problem. I should have been more clear in my original post. Changing uNumDepthGrids to 1 also fixes the hole in the water problem, but introduces new problems when you go into the water (in some cases there will be a circular area around the user where the water has a different alpha level than the rest of the water).

I'm still trying to figure out what (if anything) can be done to fix the reflection problem. From what I've seen it looks like the water is trying to reflect the low-detail geometry even if the grid count is increased. If the low-detail gemoetry is no longer present (because it's been replaced by higher detail geometry), it doesn't reflect it. The sky or other low detail geometry that should be ocluded is reflected instead. This is all guess work, but I wonder if perhaps the shader has some hard coded value in it for how far away detailed geometry should cut off (based on the default uGridsToLoad=5).

for exmaple the grass flashes here .. this isnt suppose to happen!
I'll have to double-check but I don't think I've seen anything like that. The only weird thing I've seen so far is some shadow weirdness around some of the animal shadows but I was able to make it go away by changing the shadow option in game, trying it with the new setting, then restoring the option back to its highest level.

I haven't checked to see if AF is working but I did check to see if it causes a performance hit. The hit was 10fps going from 16xAF to app control so I assumed it was working. I'll have to compare screenshots to know for sure though I guess.

Check my screenshots above, it's working and there is the FPS hit that comes with it.

if you want to do an af check find a long straight road and use that as comparison, those always work best.

Nice Boost:

Check this out:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/i...ic=285612&st=0

I have a dual core opteron + 2gb ram, 7800gt's sli (I play at 1920 x 1200) and was actually playing with these settings last night. I definitely noticed a difference, mainly when fighting things in grassy areas. Previously I would drop to as low as 7 fps....with this plus all the other tweaks (including the MS xp hotfix for dual cores), I now maintain framerates mostly in the 20's sometimes even 30's when fighting in the grass.

Hmm... does that do anytyhing for single core CPU users? The MP seems like a multi-processor setting. I could be wrong though.

i tried just doubling my standard settings for them in the ini and outside my eprformance felt worse. More cacheing imo. But its so hard to tell with this game heh.

How much ram do you have? Do you have dual core?

I have 2gb and noticed an improvement when doubling when there enemies on screen. Then again, I did the windows hotfix for dual core at the same time (my bad), so can't be 100% sure exactly which optimization did the trick.

The devs should put out an unofficial, unsupported, do this at your own risk, line by line breakdown of the ini to save us all hours of tweaking trial and error!
