Read the comments, it actually appears that single-core users are getting a boost too. If its real that is...

Some were, but there were people with A64 single cores that said they were getting boosts.

I dont know, if you read enough of the posts you'll see them. There are a lot of people that seem to be getting a boost from this.

Dammit, I have an hour and a half left of work, THEN I have to go fix someone elses computer on my way home. I want to try this tweak and play Oblivion

One thing is for sure. All this weekend my YIM status message is going to be "Oblivious"

Multithreading on a single core without HT shouldn't help things. Trying to make Windows juggle more threads on a single processor should be less efficient.

P4's are inefficient. That's why HT exists. It makes more use of the buzzing mosquito inside that processor.

These are on a 7800 GTX 256 OCed at 1280x1024, HDR, 8xAF. The FPS values are approximate as I didn't use fraps to do a benchmark run.

A value of around 130 seems to be a good compromise between looks and performance for me.

I have been using 130 and find it a great tradeoff and good performance booster as well, thanks allot for the heads up !!

Tried the Multi Threading Tweaks and it instantly Felt smoother! I could also tell it was doing better because my SLI bars would be nearly always maxed, where they used to go a lot smaller because of the CPU bottle neck.

I Also was having terrible Stuttering through dense grass, when I turned the grass off, the game ran far far smoother. I found out my problem was anistopic filtering! It really was denting the performance, so i knocked it down from 8x to 4x and now it runs absolutely stunning!

So for you lot quickly scanning through this thread -> TURN YOUR AF DOWN!!!

Have fun!

*EDIT* I also enabled these 3 things in the profile which seamed to speed up anistropic filtering with next to no quality loss. trillinear optimisations, anistropic sample optimisations and Negative LOD bias set to allow. Try it and let me know what you think

I think those multithreading tweaks do some wacky thing to the engine. I don't think it's actually running faster, but I do think the gameplay is running faster. As in some game timer is messed up. I can run too fast. And there is some slight hitching in the games smoothness.
