I don't know about drivers on 6800 series cards, but the newest nvidia drivers make the mouse movement so much smoother in Oblivion it's just awesome. It doesn't seem to run any faster, but it seems like it does just because the movement is so silky smooth compared to previous drivers. I couldn't go back to earlier versions after this.

Which version is that? The official 91.31 or beta 91.33?

I was a bit skeptical until I fired it up, but it's no lie. For some reason the colors and general look of things with this driver just seems more vibrant as well. It's quite odd, but I'm not complaining.

Hey guys!

Thanks for the tips... but I still have one prob...

You know when you cast spells, like the lightning one? A fogg effect appears and well.. drops my fps lots...

I have a AGP8x Geforce FX 6600 with 256 300Mhz DDRRAM, dual 400 MHz RamDac, and a 300 Mhz System Clock... i think... :P

Can i do something about the fogg spell effect? No one asked this b4...

You might want to look around http://www.tessource.net/ for a plugin for the game that changes the spell effects. Someone might have removed the smoke\fog effects to fix this problem.

Other than that, I don't really know what you could do. There might be an .ini option for spell effects but I doubt its that specific.

Damn these new machines are fast. Here is some more nvidia antialiasing with HDR. Reanna is in the photo. I got her off the net somewhere. She is posing with her forlorn look. I read the whole post in hope that someone might figure out how to get ugridload up to 7 or 9 because when I ride from the wynon priory to the imperial city I get the hopping effect and fall through the bridge right at the end of it. Damn shame things keep popping up because the game looks almost real with everything turned on. Sure beats running it on the nvidia 7600 I had previously.

Hello I found my copy of Oblivion that I left aside after my initial disgust at how they messed up so bad compared to Morrowind.

What mods would you recommend that I get? I download Quarls Texture pack 3 but dont know how to install it

Cheers

p.s will it run fine @ 1920x1200 with the sig in rig

Are you trying to be funny? Of course it will work. Try Oscuro's Overhaul. Although it's quite a big download.
