I appreciate the help!

SLI is definitely activated yes. What I meant by it doesn't work was that it is not really using the extra card for anything noticeable. And like you said their should be a perf. gain. Even if not huge...

Do you have "SLI mode : yes" in RendererInfo.txt? If you don't try do this:
- delete/rename Oblivion.ini
- delete/rename RendererInfo.txt
- enable SLI
- run oblivion
- check RendererInfo.txt
try now.

Note: These files are located under the /My Documents/My Games/Oblivion/ folder.

I'll have to check the 2nd card but the game in general heats up my whole system quite a bit.

Mine are running about the same temp.

Here's part of the ntune log (last two numbers are the GPUs)

I had the same heat thing happening before, 1 card running at around 65 degrees and the other around 55. I just tried again after physically removing a card, having the drivers force single GPU then putting it back and detecting SLI... and it looks like the 2nd card runs at 63 degrees now. I didn't notice any FPS improvement though.

I do have SLI Mode = yes in the txt file you metionned. Thank you for the tip, I hadn't thought about that one. I wish I had checked that before seeing any heating action going on in my 2nd GPU. If it had been on "no" before, it turning on yes now and seeing my 2nd card heat up would have been great news. I still am trying to benchmark but I am trusting FRAPS (or my ability to make identical test runs) less and less.

Still tweaking, not giving up yet! I still have to reinstall oblivion, and will asap.

Btw what is nv5?

OWA, how did you get to log temperatures using ntune? The feature doesn't seem to be available when I install it. I hve the A8N32-SLI deluxe mother board. You have the Premium, but I would think they both should be quite similar...

Did you check the next tab in ntune. You run the monitor and then it's the lower right, I think, that has little buttons. Clicking on them should take you to the other sections of ntune. With mine, one of the areas is a log menu. You can choose what temps to monitor and then start the log. It'll continue until you stop it or it reaches the max file size (I think). If you don't see anything like that, try going to www.nvidia.com and downloading the latest version. I'm not sure if the earlier versions had the logging feature.

It's actually an arrow on the lower right of the interface that changes to the next set of options.

See below for what it looks like. CPU voltage is broken for me though.

Can't get the monitor to run :P

I got Everest working though. And the temerature of both GPUs seem to indicate that they are both working in OB.

The ambiant temperature is 10 degrees less on one card (probably from the exhaust of hot air from the other card). And when the warmer card goes up 10-15 degrees in Oblivion, the other one does so too (keeping the 10 degrees difference, total).

It does really look like there is a bottleneck somewhere, and not on the GPUs. Could be anything though.

I tried the launch Oblivion in windowed mode and hit ctrl-alt-del to see how much of the CPU was used. It was tricky to keep the performence tab visible while having Oblivion's window activated. But I managed, and the CPU usage is around 48-50% on average.

My CPU is a 4800+. If you got something similar I would be curious as to what kind of CPU usage you are getting.

I am running out of ideas
