a better option would be to download ccleaner for free. it has a few of the most useful features found in all of those utility apps and from what I've seen so far, doesn't screw with your system nearly as much (ie Norton crap).

Hello, I have used system mechanic version 3.8 for about 2 years and it is good for removing Teporary files, browser history, cleans registry, has start up manager, and also has a few other things also within it, that I never use as they are for very advanced user's only, but overall it is good. I did try out the newest system mechanic 6 and hated it...WHY you ask?...Becuase the have added too many other Thing's to it that the program/software now has too many thing's included with it...like a pop up blocker and antivirus, which a pop up blocker is not needed as it is built into winxp sp2, and I would rather use a stand alone program for my antivirus needs...it is just too overwhleming all the thing's that are now included with system mechanic 6, and in my opinion not worth it for the price or too bog down your system. A lot of software developers do what I call overkill, overkill is the fact that, they created a good program after a few version's and get it perfect, but then after adding too many other updates/versions, have then made it too extensive to use or want to use. hence the word "OVERKILL"

Hello again, on a different note...I just checked out site for ccleaner and it looks Pretty good, my only question is, when running the ISSUES SECTION of this program, which should be checked, and which unchecked..before running this part of the program? so that I do not delete anythin important or have to revert to a back up of the registry...for anyone that uses this ccleaner can you reply with what you check/uncheck within the ccleaner ISSUES Section, as to what works safest and best? thank you..If I like it and find it to work well, may totally get rid of system mechanoc all together, and use this instead, although only thing that ccleaner doesnt have that system mechanic does, is START UP manager, which is very handy, instead of going to a RUN/MSCONFIG/STARTUP Tab configuration

I just tried it the other day and I had a whole bunch of checked things and I selected fix selected issues, which was all of them. Everything working great so go ahead and let it fix issues.

the ISSUES option is almost pefect IMO. It even works on my x64 install except for the fact that it wants to delete a couple start menu shortcuts which work fine so I just unselect those whenever I use it.
