Default FC4 driver no longer will install

I've been using 8178 with fc4 since 01/06 and it has done well. Occasionally I have had
to reinstall from NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8178-pkg1.run without problems (after this linux
learner mastered changing xorg.conf). The other day I found that it had failed xstart, so I tried to reinstall. This time it would not install. The /var/log/nvidia-installer.log file clearly explains what happed in a language I have not mastered. Can you help?

nvidia-installer.log

Thanks.

Default Re: FC4 driver no longer will install

OK it now will install.

I had not loaded the patch http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=62021
because I originally installed 8178 without problems prior to the patch issue date. And I had reloaded it several times so I figured that WHATEVER the patch fixed, it did not apply to me.

My bad. After I loaded the patch the install went normally. I still don't understand why, though.
